According to the update from Company Registry (“CR”), Unique Business Identifier (“UBI”) will be implemented to all entities under the Administration of the Registrar of Companies with effective on 27 December 2023.
根據公司註冊處（CR）的最新消息，公司註冊處管理下的所有實體將實施唯一業務識別碼（UBI），並於 2023 年 12 月 27 日生效。
What is “Unique Business Identifier”? 什麼是”唯一業務識別碼”？
UBI has been adopted in worldwide economics, enabling communicate and exchange of data across governments and businesses to distinctly identify legal entities effectively in various transactions and regulatory interactions. The code reduces the possibility of errors on entity identification by using different identifiers.
UBI 已在全球多個經濟體中被採用，使政府和企業之間能夠有效地進行通訊和交流，在各種交易和監管互動中更方便地識別相關法人實體。 登記證號碼透過使用不同的標識方法來減少實體識別發生錯誤的機會。
The first 8 digits of the Business Registration (“BR”) Certificate number will be adopted as the UBI, i.e., 31212453 will be the UBI of the company / entity and with effect starting from 27 December 2023, if 31212453-000-12-23-4 is the full Business Registration Certificate number of the company / entity.
UBI將會採納商業登記證號碼的前8位數為UBI號碼，即若然31212453-000-12-23-4是完整的商業登記證號碼，那麼31212453將會成為公司的UBI，有關變動將於2023年12月27日生效。
Implementation of "Unique Business Identifier" Arrangement 實施「唯一業務識別碼」安排
1. Company Registry Notice 公司註冊處通知書
A CR letter will be issued to your company registered address and informing each existing company about the change of use BRN as the UBI number and cease to use company number. In addition, CR will not assign company number for new registered companies after the UBI implementation.
您的公司註冊地址將會收到一封來自CR的信函告知將向每間已註冊公司發出有關以商業登記號碼作為唯一業務識別碼的變更及不再使用公司號碼事宜的通知書。與此同時，在UBI實施後，CR將不會再為新註冊公司分配公司號碼。
2. Updated Companies Registry forms 更新公司註冊處表格
To facilitate the implementation of the UBI, CR has revised 117 specified forms with effect from 27 December 2023. There will also be a transitional period of six months where both old and new forms will be accepted except for Forms NNC1 NNC1G, NNC5 and NN1.
為協助實施UBI，CR已修訂117份特定表格，於2023年12月27日起生效。同時設立六個月的過渡期，除表格NNC1、NNC1G、NNC5和NN1以外，新舊表格均會被接納。
