When we first encountered the word "trust", it might be taught by our parents and friends in childhood. The word means "to believe firmly of someone or something" but it carries another connotation in the financial world.
Trust is a legal agreement between a trustee, settlor and beneficiaries. Trustee is a company (sometimes may be an individual) which legally manages the assets of settlor (the owner of business or assets) according to the trust deed he or she signed. With a suitable trust structure, assets can be distributed to the beneficiaries who are supposed to receive the assets.
Some people will prefer will than trust as an estate planning method as you can literally transfer anything to heirs and the cost is one-time. However, trust is less time-consuming as assets can be distributed to beneficiaries without probate and it can effectively avoid family disputes.
There are different types of trust structure, each of them is designed to match your needs. Currently, SDG provides discretionary trust planning, pre-IPO outlining and more. If you need our professional help, please do not hesitate to book a consultation with us at info@sdgsolution.com .
